Charlotta Shelbourg is the Director of Product – LeCoR at Kindred Group plc, based in Stockholm, Sweden. With a focus on innovation and player sustainability, she has driven key initiatives in KYC and responsible gaming. Her career spans roles such as Head of Verification and Experience Owner for "Be in Control", combining strategic vision with a passion for impactful, player-focused solutions.

Charlotta was initially inspired to join Kindred after seeing a strong example of a female role model in a C-suite position at Kindred, and she champions mentoring and representation of women at all stages of their career. She thrives in building dynamic and diverse teams, honouring everyone’s unique perspectives and talents and thereby enabling success.

Dr Maris Catania
Chartered Psychologist

Meet Dr Maris Catania: Championing Science-backed Safer Gambling

Dr. Maris Catania is a Chartered Psychologist and a veteran in the gambling industry, with over fourteen years of experience in game integrity and safer gambling, and is based in Malta. Currently serving as a Senior Safer Gaming Consultant at SG:certified, her previous experience includes her role as Head of Responsible Gaming and Research at Kindred, where she spearheaded the company’s responsible gambling strategy. She played a pivotal role in the creation of Kindred's Player Safety – Early Detection System (PS-EDS), a system that uses behavioral data to identify early signs of harm.

Her academic work has earned her the Gambling Compliance Most Significant Contribution to Responsible Gambling Research award for three consecutive years. In addition to her industry work, Dr. Catania teaches at the University of Malta, delivering lectures on gambling psychology, gaming psychology, gambling policy, behavioral addiction, and cyberpsychology.

Elin has been involved in the Women in Tech initiative since 2014, when serving as a Brand Manager at the Bonnier Group. Director of Women in Tech Sweden since 2019 when she took the leap from being employed to becoming a freelancer. Within Yaysayer AB, Elin is developing and implementing brand and communications strategies, providing communications support for management teams in major change and transformation projects, as well as doing quite a bit of graphic design (yes, she is a formidable PowerPoint wizard) and function as a creative director.
